According to an Harvard Business Review survey, 58% of people said they would trust a stranger before they would trust their boss.
We all shake our head when we read that, right? But are we really trustworthy bosses? How do we gain trust? Let’s take this journey together….
“I love helping people make meaningful connections with their employees so that they can be more effective and productive team members.”
I’m the husband of an amazing wife, a dad of 4 cool kids, a sports fanatic, a former touring musician and leader of a great group of software creators. Oh, and I’ve been leading since my first gig at managing a McDonald’s in 1977.
I love coaching leaders. In over 40 years of managing people, I’ve had some great coaches that have helped me grow and I’ve been privileged to pass along those lessons to those I’ve mentored. I’m an old dude, and I’ve pretty much seen it all first hand.
But coaching is a funny thing. Do coaches have more expertise, insight or experience than the people they coach? Not necessarily. I mean, Tiger Woods had a golf coach, and who was better at golf than he was?? What coaches DO bring is a unique perspective – a view from the “outside”.
My main coaching focus revolves around increasing your team’s effectiveness by connecting relationally. Here are a few things I generally talk about with managers:
Once you schedule the one-on one session, we’ll communicate about specifics you’d like to cover before the meeting. My goal is to squeeze the maximum value from our times together. You’ll get a listening ear, some time-honored advice, the honest truth, and a plan for your professional growth. And most importantly, you’ll be a more confident manager, and your team will reap the benefits!
I can’t wait to meet you!

“My coaching sessions with Chris were awesome! They were immensely valuable and the highlight of my week. We had real conversations about my team’s growth and my growth as their supervisor…which was killer!”
